Sturm Family Photo Shoot

At Thanksgiving this year we decided to take some Sturm family pictures. So in the negative degree weather of Wyoming we threw our coats off and ran in the snow to our spots. I turned the timer on the camera and we froze while we got a couple shots. One after another while I ran back and forth to turn on the timer. I think they turned out great and we didn't freeze to much doing it!

The big race!

Adam accomplished his goal and I am so excited for him!!!! He has been training for a couple months to run a half marathon. He would get up every Saturday about 6am and go run 11 or 12 miles.... what makes me sick is he makes it look so easy and not a big deal!!!! Well on Saturday before Halloween we woke up early and drove down to Provo where he ran the Halloween Half!
He dressed up like a moving target- we painted his shirt with a target and hot glue gunned nerf bullets all over him!

His goal was to finish in 2 hours and he finished in 1:50!!!Good Job Adam I am so proud of you!

Witches Night Out!

At Gardner's Village there is a night called witches night out! So we got a whole bunch of girls together and dressed as witches and went to it! It was a bigger deal then I thought it would be. Every single person there was dressed like a witch. I felt like I was in the movie "Witches" where there is the big witches convection!
This is Julie heckling like a witch in front of everyone! I quote "it started in my toes and came out!"
Haha I look like I have a ace bandage on my head but it is just a beanie!

I don't know these people....

Halloween always brings the best out of people!!! Here are some pictures from our family Halloween party!

I was a paper doll!

Bird Hunting!

I finally experienced the thrill of bird hunting...well I guess going and hanging out while the boys went bird hunting. It is on Adam's top favorite things to do and really it was like Christmas morning when he went this year! Doesn't he just look so excited!
We went out in the middle of nowhere and spent a couple days while the men went and gathered food:) Adam did really well! He pretty much got all of his birds down on the first shot! Here they all are with their catch for the day! I don't know if any of you have ever had sage grouse? It is different...kind of like chicken but you have to soak it for a while to get out the gamy-ness(don't know if that is even a word)
As we sat outside watching the sunset I had to take an opportunity for pictures! (any chance I get!)I think they turned out pretty cute...(thanks julie for taking them!)

Summer Projects

Now that summer is over and school has begun free time all of the sudden dissapears. This summer we tried to do alot of projects around the house. Here are a couple of the MANY things we worked on this summer!
This one is my favorite! We went to a store and found this big vinyl tree for like $50. So then I decided I will just make it. I was able to find a store that sells large vinyl sheets and drew it and cut it out. We were able to make it for about $15 instead! I then painted and got the pictures ready and put it all together! We love it!

Then we had extra vinyl and put a branch down the hallway to tie it all together!
The next thing was something Adam did all on his own to suprise me while I was at girls camp! He knew I wanted a bench out front so bad and when we couldn't find one he was sweet and made me one! It was his first big wood work project and I was sooo impressed.
Then we made planter boxes and painted them and then filled it. We still need to add things to the wall above the bench and decoration in the boxes.
Another thing is this dresser. Adam came home one day with a run down broken dresser he said he got from the side of the road...or a dumpster...I don't even remember! But he said he saw potential in it and wanted to see if we could fix it up. (He did most of the work!). He sanded it and painted it and fixed the drawers. As you can see one of the handles are missing. We are planning on replacing all of them soon.

I love working on things with him and making our house look better! I love that he loves doing stuff like this! We are such a good team!

Golfing in an Art exhibit?!

Yep it is true! I took adam on a suprise date where we went to Salt Lake to spend the day! I first took him to an art exhibit in Salt Lake and there was this modern art exhibit that was a mini golf course. So it was weird to golf on art! But so much fun! And free! Here is what some of the course looked like.

After a couple hole's we were both so behind we just stopped keeping score...I am sure I won...haha! :) After that we went out to eat at Macaroni Grill (mmmm) and then stopped at the Farmers Market out in the park! It was a great day away from everything!

Camping with family

This summer we went with Adam's family camping in Idaho! We were able to fish and spend time outside with the family. Here are some of the pictures...
Oh...I have the most handsome huband ever!
Kiley loved taking Julie on 4 wheel rides...and of course she loved going over big bumps!
Adam got to ride his nephews motorcycle around...haha...luckily we don't have one....he is a daredevil!
Kiley and Tanner loved playing in the stream by our camp...until the dogs came and splashed them! :)
