Suprise!

On May 8th I had the best birthday and best Mothers day! Adam and I were finally able to tell people that I was pregnant! We gave both of our mothers a present and inside was a little onsie that said "What Happens at Grandmas stays at Grandmas" We first got a call from Adam's mom who wasn't quite sure what it was about but had a clue! She was so excited and so were we! At my house we got to Skype my brother who was on a mission in Brazil. While we were on with him I made my mom open the present so he could be a part of it! She started crying! All of my brothers are so excited to be uncles but I think my dad is the most excited. My mom said that the other day when I called to see what she wanted for mothers day, she said that in the other room my dad said, "Tell her all you want is a grandchild!"
We are so excited to be starting our family. About a week ago we went to our first appointment and had an ultrasound. When we first saw picture of our little baby with arms and legs I couldn't help but start to cry! I cannot wait to be a mom and experience that miracle! Of course we are nervous and what the future will hold and how we are going to manage things but we are also so excited and blessed!

Driven!

For Adam's birthday I got him a race car package at Miller Motor SportsPark. He finally got to do it. We went with his parents(his dad got one too) down to Tooelle where the track is. He got to.....
Take a tour through the car museum, which I don't know much about cars, but I was quite impressed with some of the rare cars they had...also how expensive they are now! Some in there were bought for 4 million!

He then took a short class on how to drive race cars. There is actually alot more to it than just going fast! He then buckled in and took off!

He had to ride behind a car that a professional was in but he was going really fast. I asked him after and he said he didn't look down to much but a couple times it was between 80-90 mph.
He got out with the biggest smile on his face (haha ignore the closed eyes...)

Next he got to get in the car, but this time in the passenger side, with a professional. He said he couldn't see the speedometer but the tires were screeching and he was clenched on the seat. Before they left the professional looked over and said "uh you may want to tighten your seatbelt a little more, I am used to racing firrari's"
Then they took them over to the go karts where they got to cool down and ride around in those!

He loved being able to drive a racecar and I am so glad I found such a great deal on the package!

It's a family thing....

I am not doing very good at updating this! Our lives have just been so busy and there is so much to put on...but no time! Every night we are busy doing something. Whether it is our church callings, work, family or hanging out with friends we stay busy! Don't get me wrong we love life right now...but it is hard to keep up! We are so happy and so thankful for all of our blessings at this time in our life! We fall in love with each other more and more each day! I only have time right now to put these pics up. Hopefully more will follow soon! The other week we went shooting with my family. They love to go to the range and practice with all their different types of guns. It has definitely become a family thing! I had some fun editing these pics so they look a little strange!

Here is my hot husband! The Utah Lake was so pretty that day!

A new member of the family!

Many of you heard that Coke, our chocolate lab died unexpectantly on Christmas. I was definitely hard to take. Adam said that come spring and good weather we would get another dog. Although we didn't know how we would ever be able to replace Coke. Well Adam started looking on KSL for some puppies that would be born in the spring. The more he looked the more he craved another dog. So a couple weeks ago we drove down the Lindon where we picked up a new little Black Lab puppy! We decided to call him Axle. It fits Adam perfectly since he is all about cars! We are still in training mode and discovering more and more of his personality everyday!

Sturm Family Photo Shoot

At Thanksgiving this year we decided to take some Sturm family pictures. So in the negative degree weather of Wyoming we threw our coats off and ran in the snow to our spots. I turned the timer on the camera and we froze while we got a couple shots. One after another while I ran back and forth to turn on the timer. I think they turned out great and we didn't freeze to much doing it!

The big race!

Adam accomplished his goal and I am so excited for him!!!! He has been training for a couple months to run a half marathon. He would get up every Saturday about 6am and go run 11 or 12 miles.... what makes me sick is he makes it look so easy and not a big deal!!!! Well on Saturday before Halloween we woke up early and drove down to Provo where he ran the Halloween Half!
He dressed up like a moving target- we painted his shirt with a target and hot glue gunned nerf bullets all over him!

His goal was to finish in 2 hours and he finished in 1:50!!!Good Job Adam I am so proud of you!

Witches Night Out!

At Gardner's Village there is a night called witches night out! So we got a whole bunch of girls together and dressed as witches and went to it! It was a bigger deal then I thought it would be. Every single person there was dressed like a witch. I felt like I was in the movie "Witches" where there is the big witches convection!
This is Julie heckling like a witch in front of everyone! I quote "it started in my toes and came out!"
Haha I look like I have a ace bandage on my head but it is just a beanie!
